Digitals are the basic images we use to show clients exactly what you’ll look like when you walk into the room. They often serve as a reference for hair and makeup artists to plan your look. 

Digitals can be taken at home, in a studio, or even outdoors in front of plain background. Use a tripod or ask a friend to help. Position the camera straight up and down at chest height.

Our requirements for digitals are as follows:

• 6-8 photos. One headshot, one profile, one 3/4 (from knee up), one full body, one full body side view, and one smiling/laughing/happy.

• If you have long hair, 1-2 photos with your ears visible.

• A clean, white background without distractions.

• Natural light. Take in front of/beside a window or outdoors.

• Wear fitted, simple clothing in solid and neutral tones. A black t-shirt or tank top with jeans is usually best. No graphics, bright colours, dresses/skirts, v-necks, jackets, sweaters, ripped jeans, swimwear, loungewear, hats, or any accessories other than minimal jewellery.

• Please wear shoes. Sneakers, loafers, leather boots, flats, heels, or clogs are all great. No slippers, sandals, socks, bare feet, large winter boots, or rain boots.

• Natural hair and minimal or no makeup. Clean and moisturized skin. Natural or neutral nails.

• 4x5 format or close to it in portrait orientation. Please no super tall and skinny photos or landscape photos.

• Do not use portrait mode or live mode on your phone.

• Send as .jpeg/.jpg

• Must be taken within the last year.

• If you have tattoos or piercings beyond the earlobe, please take additional photos to show them if necessary.
